Salem Academy of Music was established in the summer of 2004 as a voluntary organisation and later as a non-for-profit charity organisation in 2005. Since its inception, it has provided quality instrumental and vocal training to all ages in Peckham, Southwark and other London boroughs.

Hundreds of trainees have passed through Salem Academy of Music courses and achieved excellent results in the ABRSM Grade examinations. Some of these trainees have become part of the choir and orchestral of their churches, organisation and community while some have progress to study music at the university.
